As President
of Samaha and Company, Inc., Peggy Samaha has over 35 years
of diversified Project Management experience in new hotel
construction, renovations, design and purchasing for the hospitality
industry. She has successfully established herself as
a recognized industry leader representing Owners, Operators,
and Developers in effectively directing the many facets of
domestic and international hotel construction and renovation
projects. Ms. Samaha has provided project management
services to Regent International Hotels, DoubleTree Hotels,
Muss Development, Scannapieco Development and Lend Lease Real
Estate Group.
Prior
to opening her own company, Peggy directed the Interior Planning
of New Construction Projects in Japan and Major Renovation
Programs throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Pacific/Asia
as Staff Vice President -- Interior Design, for Inter*Continental
Hotels Corporation, now referred to as IHG. Peggy's previous position as Vice President, Technical Services with VMS Realty Partners, afforded
her the opportunity to establish and implement Capital and
Major Expenditure Programs for a diverse property portfolio,
including Holiday Inn, Hyatt, Four Seasons, Prime Motor Inn,
and Rock Resort Properties.
Peggy's
Hospitality Industry career began with FF&E Purchasing for
Elsters, Inc. She joined Hirsch/Bedner Associates purchasing
division in 1977 and was responsible for Interior Design Coordination,
and FF&E Installation for several Hyatt properties. This effort
led to Peggy's move to Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in 1980. During
her nine year tenure with Hyatt, Peggy established and directed
a division dedicated to Renovation Management. This included
developing the format for Hyatt's 3-5 Year Capital & Major
Expenditure Budget Programs, Expenditure Tracking Systems,
and Turnkey Renovation Management Services. All of these services
were ultimately marketed beyond Hyatt owned and operated properties.
Peggy
holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Brooks College. She
has been a regular guest lecturer at Cornell's School of Hotel Administration,
Professional Development Program (PDP). As
a founding member of Network of Executive Women in Hospitality
( NEWH ) - Greater New York Chapter, Peggy has served as Chief
Financial Officer (CF0) and a two year term as President.
